This woman gets a lot of press in her country. This weight exceeds the current world record

Again with the Korea stuff

If you want a sneak preview of the venue for the 2009 Worlds in Goyang City (suburb of Seoul) in Korea, just hop on a plane this November for the 2008 Asian Interclub Championships. I can't! Holidays aren't until December.

I put together a video made from various short clips on cyworld. They're not my clips obviously. So the the video shows some Koreans, but mostly Yoon Jin Hee, 53 kg world snatch champ last year, doing various assistance exercises. More later. There is also a 210 kg power clean at the end.

If you double click the video and watch it on youtube itself, there are additional notes.

Korean video - last one
When I first started investigating Korean weightlifting it was because I was living there, or last winter I was actually scheduled to work there again February 20th, 2008 with the Seoul - Gangnam District school board. So I was really trying to atttract some attention from their weightlifters and make some contacts. It would have been my best job there so far but I declined the offer to stay home and waste time (and money) writing Coast Guard and Border Security Officer tests.

Since I am not going there and I will not have the opportunity to go to the 2009 Worlds due to the scheduling of my vacation, this will be my last post related to weightlifting in Korea.

Here are some heavy lifts posted to a Cyworld web site that I strung together into one video.

If you double click the video and watch it on youtube itself, there are additional notes.

Since this guy won a gold medal in Beijing, I'll add a few recent pictures. Here is him receiving recognition from local members of his national assembly and city council.

Sa Jae Hyouk, winner 77 kg
