Loren Lepore Wins USA Schoolage Nationals

Loren Lepore claimed a national championship for the Shreveport Bossier Weightlifting Club over the weekend at the National Schoolage Championships in Springfield, Mo. Lepore, who competed in the 69+ weight class of the 13-and-under age dvision, totalled 152 Kg in the snatch and clean and jerk, beating the next closest competitior — Darion Lowery of Lift for Life Gym — by 12 kg.

In the same age division the SBWLC picked up a second-place finish from Michael Birmingham. Birmingham totalled 98 kg. in the 50 kg. weight class. Colton Sewell of the Charleston Weightlifting Club took first-place honors,edging out Birmingham.

Beau McFerren representing the North DeSoto Weightlifting Club finished third in the 14-15 85 kg. class with a 150 kg. total. Marx Powell, also representing NDWLC finsihed seventh with a personal record total of 161 kg. in the 85-plus weight class. Powell received an award for successfully completing all six of his attempts in the snatch and clean and jerk.

Trevor Williams and Dominick McAtee both finished in fourth place for SBWLC. Williams competed in the 13-and-under 35 kg weight class totalling 52 kg. McAtee totalled 108 kg in the 14-15's 50 kg weight class.
