workout-keeping it light(er)

Hi all,
My highland games season started on 5/5. Due to that, I want to keep my OL's a little lighter and focus on throwing. I figure, y not work on technique in season. In the off season I go up to 90+ much of the time.
Say I want to use 80k, which is roughly my 70% for the snatch. My question is ,did anyone ever increase/decrease intensities by changing their rest time. ie: say I want to do 15 singles with 80k,then i might do 1-80 x 3 sets with 30 sec rest in between. take 60 sec then do another 3 singles with 30 in between. then the following workout do maybe 8 singles with 20 sec rest in between...If I did 20 singles, maybe attempt 60 sec rest...
thanks much

Sounds pretty reasonable, at 70% I think you could do that fairly easily. Maybe the later reps will be tougher :)
I asked a well known translator of Russian materials about rest between lifts once, and he basically told me that the time it takes to walk slowly around the platform and for breathing to return to normal is enough. And that isn't much time at all.
