Thank you for the very interesting information concerning doping testing in Canada.
But I notice that Deschenes, Tremblay, and Amede are not in the RTP (Registered Testing Pool) yet are listed to compete in the Worlds?

I guess I should have mentioned, USADA claims I can not appeal any of their crap so far unless I refuse a test or test positive. They also claim they can make me stay in the OOC program as long as they choose, whether or not I am a member of the USAW, and whether I compete or not, etc. Also, if the USAW or USADA had properly informed me of the rules or properly enforced them either when I retired or when I came back, I would have had a choice to either not compete forever or join the OOC program and be eligible for all the benefits, including trying out for the Olympic Games. Their failure to inform me of or enforce the rules until this late date means I have been enrolled in the program but am not eligible for the benefits of the program- making an Olympic Team. I chose not to enroll because I was told in writing I only had to do so if I wanted to make national squads, earn financial benefits, or make international teams. But, this was a false choice they presented and now I am in the program anyway and can't try out for the Olympics according to them.

There is no shortage of stories where a small business person has been hit with tens of thousands or more of legal costs from their own lawyers. Then there is the potential of having to pay for the other sides legal costs if the small business person loses

List of athletes is as of June 18th, I assume there is something more recent offline. I'm not a person who receives up to date info. Deschenes is not on the National squad. As for the Worlds I think it was only a recent decision to send more than a few men, and anyone not in the top few is paying the majority of their way to the worlds. It's like, prior to the Worlds
CWFHC - "Who wants to go?"
lifter - "I do"
CWFHC - "ok, but you've got to pay your own way"

It's not as formal as in the USAW, but with funding comes structure and CWFHC barely has funds.

I would think that they are not used to having to admit that they are wrong and usually don't have athletes that stand up for their rights.  Keep up the fight.

Sorry what is the actual problem with complying with a OOC program?  I just have not understood this current change in events.  Surey someone who wants to break records or is attempting to become a good 62kg lifter would want to have a record to show they were clean while doing it.

I think the idea of going to an independent laboratory will be useless and in court would be shown to be as such.  The whole idea of OOC is the athlete is unaware of when the test is rather than walking in and giving a sample when he is confident of being clean.

The problem is that they are breaking their own rules and trying to force a six month waiting period on me to compete if I ever chose to do so for no good reason.

Hey Chris,
Chris,
I am sorry for your continuing troubles and turmoil.
In my mind the question is, as an elite athlete do you want to lift, or do you want to win the argument?
I know you want to hold true to your values, but what is most important?
To compete and win at a sport that you love or to win an argument which in the process scuttles the opportunity to compete at a high level while in the twilight of your prime.

It is so hard for us to submit, especially when we think that we are right. But I think it's possible to work out in your own mind a way to salvage your pride and continue to do what you love. A more congenial attitude might go a long way to get what you want and still be able to lift your head high.

You must be exhausted. Put your energy to better use.....Do you have a mediator?
That will be 5 cents!
Dr. Pete
