Breaking In Shoes

I just got my very first pair of weightlifting shoes and I am excited about it. I read somewhere that you should not start wearing them all the time immediately after getting them in order to let your body adjust to being in the different positions with the heal raised. So what I was planning was this week I wore them on a lift day where I had reduced loads as more of a recovery day. Then add a day of wearing them each week until I wear them for every lift session (next week wear them 2 days, 3 days the next week ect.). Would that be optimal or would there be a better course of action?

Hi Andy, I'd just wear them every session, but if they feel unusual while doing heavier olympic lifts, then don't go heavy right away. The more you wear them the quicker they will feel natural to you.

Andy,
I have had 2 pairs of shoes over the years and never had a problem breaking them in. I agree with Sean - only change your shoes if you feel hot spots or unusual straining.
