Matt Bruce Wins USA Sr Nationals, Makes Pan Am Games and World Championship Teams

Matt Bruce of the Gayle Hatch Weightlifting Team won three gold medals at the U.S. National Weightlifting championships last weekend.

Bruce, competing in the 169-pound weight class, snatched 320 pounds and lifted 401 pounds in the clean-and-jerk, claming gold medals in both. His combined weight of 721 earned the third gold.

Bruce has been selected for the USA Team that will compete at the Pan American Games on July 21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and to the U.S. World Team that will compete in Thailand in September.
