Shoulder surgery

yesterday i had shoulder surgery (arthroscopic subacromial decompression) which im told was a success and should relieve me of the tendon problems ive had over the last 6 months.
Has anyone else here had anything similar? If so it would be great to hear how your rehab went, how long it took and how you eased back into weightlifting etc.
Thanks, Tom P

I just had the exact same procedure on Feb 28th.
After two weeks I could squat and pull. In fact, the pulls decompressed the shoulder and helped to break up scar tissue. After a month I could snatch.
I have just started being able to clean or front squat again... the scoped portion of the AC region was just too painful for a heavy bar to make contact with.
I would say that now, I am probably at 100%, but must pay a considerable amount more time on rehab, because if I don't ice after a clean or front squat workout, my shoulder is completely un-useable the next day.
My only advice, take your physical therapy seriously, and give it the same effort you give your regular training, no matter how silly you feel pulling light rubber bands and doing rotator cuff work with little pink dumbbells. Don't try to rush into lifting again, unless it is something you can do without pain (clean pulls were great for me, they actually felt good).

thanks joshua,
Very encouraging to hear from someone who's had the same proceedure, i will definately take the rehab seriously, i dont have a competition til dec so i wont rush back either. How long was it before you introduced any kind of overhead movements, they re the ones ill be really anxious about as they caused me the initial problems.
Thanks again
