Ryan,

At this point in time, the KSG are not a USAW sanctioned event so your results would not be valid if they met the qualifying standard.  I am hoping that ECG would make it a sanctioned event.  Even still, the venue is first class, the equipment is first class (York Elite Set), and they give out a great looking medal.  The only thing lacking at this point is quality and quantity of lifters.  I am hoping that will change.

Having competed in the KSG 2 times now and competed in 2 sanctioned events, I can tell you there is no difference in the judging or the running of the events.  Everything seems to run just like a sanctioned event so they might as well make it a sanctioned event.  The only thing I can think of as a reason why they don't run it as a sanctioned event would be that it would limit the participants to USAW athletes.  Maybe the KSG organization doesn't want to limit the athlete pool.

I hope to see you and many others this year at the games and see it grow.  It has the potential to become a true state championship.
