So there's no plans to do something similar with an elite international lifter? I remember you briefly critiquing Ilya Ilin's clean technique, maybe a video would allow you to go into better detail and im sure many people would be interested in the critique of an elite lifter's technique.
Its a possibility.

Chris,

As you are aware I have recently set up a weightlifting forum and I can see where you are coming from.  Even with the smaller numbers that have registered for that weightlifting site I still notice that only a small percentage actively participate in discussion.  Having said that I still think a lot of them are actually viewing the content and making use of the material which I am sure is the case here.  In addition you do not even have to log in to watch the video clips so even people not registered have the opportunity to view them.

I have not (until now) given any feedback on the new video analysis clips but I do find them very appealing and informative.  Since moving to America on a work visa I am now training on my own (I think I may even be the only lifter in the state of Arkansas - would be glad to be proved wrong) and the videos do help me to try and keep various aspects of my technique under check.  May be nice taking some of the video submissions of registered forum users (such as Paul la Duke, John Clutter and Cathal Byrd) for analysis.  This may help to bridge the gap between the lifters who are training on their own or without a coach and the lifters who you would suspect are getting good coaching at national training squads etc. Its also worth pointing out that the videos you have used make it better for analysis as they give the side on view.

Anyway cheers for the analysis clips so far and keep up the good work.

Regards,

Pete

Yes, the problem with analyzing international lifters is getting the material, hopefully including some side angles hopefully for bar trajectories, but I have been working on it and will continue to do so.

In the meantime, I made a couple subtle improvements to this Casey analysis and added a side by side comparison between his snatch and clean at the end.

Thanks for the feedback. Please keep it coming, and please pass the video and link around (according to stated terms on first page).

Pete,

I hear what you are saying. In the past, I have performed some video analysis for some of our members for free (John is my athlete so thats a little different). But, I can't do a full analysis for free for lifters that are not being coached by me or who won't draw the views. My purpose is multifacted. I want to promote our great sport, I want to promote developing, clean athletes (especially if representing my country), and finally, yes, I want to make some money for my work. If my videos do well on Revver, then all these goals are accomplished in my opinion.

Anyway, I would perform these services for a reasonable rate for our membership, and for free if the video I make of them draws the views. Perhaps a revenue sharing situation is possible. I will consider it. Any thoughts?
