For my shoes which I have just replaced due to wear and tear I actually went to a shoe repair shop and explained that I wanted a higher heel and they were able to specifically raise the heel before putting a new sole on the shoe. So even if you do not have a high heel on your shoe already it may be quite easy to find a good shoe shop who should be able to make the correct adjustments.
On a side note, one of the clubs I used to lift in would get kids old trainers and glue a simple heel on to them which was cheap and effective for kids and often gave the kids long enough to decide whether they wanted to do the sport before purchasing a more expensive pair of weightlifting shoes.

Bob,
Check out the shoes by VS Athletic .
here.
They look exactly like the Do-Win shoes but for less than I have seen elsewhere.
I would also check out your local shoe store especially if you like the fit of your current shoe. Most cobblers would probably love to work on your shoes.

Werksan shoes also appear to have a higher heel.
I believe the VS Athletics shoe is the DoWin.
I'm in the other boat, I own a pair of dowins and I need to get the heel shaved down.

thanks much fellas
Joshua, wanna swap my addistars for your do wins, lol j/k
I was gonna order the do wins but all the sell now is the suede ones. the leather ones are off the market. I dont like suede. But I'm trying to contact different companies to see if they have anymore in stock for my size, in leather. Glenn Pendlay doesn't. I know you got your shoes from him.
just curious tho, y do u need to get your heel shaved down. you look good in your vids.
how is the highland games coming. been throwing? my season starts soon, but as my bad luck may have it, i just separated my right shoulder in a sking accident :-(

Bob,
I am going in for shoulder surgery tomorrow... so no throwing or lifting for about 3 weeks or so.
As far as the shoes, my biggest problem is with gaining an arch, the dowins are so high that getting back on my heels is near impossible. Also, in the bottom of cleans and snatches, I tend to come forward onto my toes. My size 13 dowins have a 1.5" heel, I am considering shaving 1/4" or even 1/2" off.
