Weightlifting in Boston?
« on: Feb 20, 2007, 06:21 PM »
Hi All,

I am moving to Boston soon and am trying to line up a place to train. Does anyone have tips -- or a garage, for that matter? I have a York training set and am willing to share it if someone has the space.

Every time I move to a new city it takes me months to find a training location and I dissipate all my gains, so I am really reaching out to all of you in the spirit of weightlifting to give me some suggestions! I am finally making progress and want to keep it going as I relocate.

Best,

There is a new, small weightlifitng club in Waltham, just outside the city:

Excel Sport and Fitness
179 Bear Hill Road
Waltham, MA 02451

http://www.excelstrength.com/index.html

They have 2 platforms, good bars and bumpers and plenty of squat racks and other strength training equipment. I dont know what the fees are to use the club but the contact there would be Matt Delaney. He is a lifter himself and does some coaching there.
