All you young guys posting in this thread is great! I wish I would have competed when I was younger but didn't have the oppurtunity.
My first competition was the 2005 Keystone State Games as a 38 year old in the 94kg class. I weighed in at 91.5kg.
Snatch 85kg
Clean and Jerk 107.5kg
Total 192.5kg
My best competition was 2 weeks ago. I weighed in at 88kg.
Snatch - 87.5kg (just missed 90kg).
Clean and Jerk - 110kg
Total 197.5kg.
Progress at my age comes very slowly, but I am just happy that I can still improve. I still believe with all my heart that I have the potential to snatch 100kg and clean and jerk 120kg. I need to tweek some little things.
Just wanted to post a master's aged competitors experience. You are never to old to start this sport and enjoy this sport. This sport is about pushing yourself and seeing what happens. I love it!

First Comp was beginning of 2003. 18 years old, couple months of training.
I did 55 and 72.5 in the 69s
My best lifts now are 115 and 141 in the 77s
My best comp was last Dec (2005).
I've had some adjustments in my life in the last year. But its all good now, so next comp I'll have a new best!
