I had the same feeling as Eamonn, but in the video of the 110kg clean the same thing happened. So try to explode more toward the end of the pul and drop quickly under the bar. Use your arm to get under the bar fast.
Good lift, how much is your snatch and jerk? And how much do you front squat?
Nice work!
Rex

hi cheers for the feedback snatch pb is 82 and jerk 105 from rack clean and jerk 100. best front squat is 115 for 3. leg strength is very poor in comparison to my lifts

Got to agree with Rex.  I have listened to too much dance music in my time including that track and it seems to be at normal speed!  Therefore I think he needs to speed up the pull

hi peter
thanks for the feedback i definitely agree that i need to get more leg strength. i dont know if you can properly see from the video but the bar falls down on top of me and kind of pins me down i reckon this is probably why the elbows drop. I find that when i do clean one of my problems is getting pinned by the bar when it falls from a height as usaully i get under the bar quite quickly. I was thinking about doing clean to different heights to sort this out would appreciate any ideas? Oh and about the weight yeah i am only 80 kg i am also only 5ft 6. I usually lift in 77kg class.

Hello Andy,

Back home in Belfast, N. Ireland at the minute for Christmas.  You are snatching 105? One of the posts said this unless jet lagged eyes are misreading.

You are correct if the bar is burying you in the clean you need to work on timing and where to catch the bar so you are not going too low for a bar you have pulled alot higher only for it to come down on you.  You are also correct with how to rectify the problem.  Work on cleaning bar to different heights.

Will be training in Hercules, Dublin on 29th if any of your lot are interested in also making the trip.

Cheers,

Pete

Yeah I read that about a 105 snatch also. Perhaps Andy got a load of gear for christmas. Otherwise its a typo. Otherwise its just a great improvement and congrats to Andy.

ya typo sadly it would have been a nice old present the 105 snacth and not a load of gear
