Workout, 11/16/2006, 23 days to competition

Light Snatch Day - Speed Emphasis

 Snatch from High Hang - 10x3x135# (70% of 1RM)

  Snatch Pulls - 6x2x205# (105% 0f 1RM)

 OHS - 6x3x135#  (this was a lighter weight, worked on depth of squat, flexibility and keeping trunk upright)

Weighed out at 192.5  (87.3kg).  Not sure if I want to compete at 85kg or 94 kg with Thanksgiving coming.  I may just bag trying to lose the weight and enjoy the workouts and the food.   :P

Ryan,

It is a USAW local meet at the Kennedy Gym in Morgantown, PA on Dec 9th.  There will also be a PL meet on Dec 10.  The Gym is located just off the PA Turnpike.  I will post contact info later.

11/17/2006 - Workout - 22 days to competition

 Max Effort Clean and Jerk

  Warm Up (15 minutes)

  Barbell Lunges - 3x10x135#

 Clean and Jerk - PR=248#
     1x185#
     1x195#
     1x205#
     1x215#
     1x225#
     1x235#
     1x245# failed jerk attempt

  Clean + Jerk x 2
     6x2x215#

  Weighed out at 191.8#

 The jerk is by far my weakest lift.   I will be working more on that over the next 2 weeks.

 Plan for next week is to lift M-W-F due to Thanksgiving and travel.  I will perform C&J and Snatch on M & W while Friday will be a kettle bell workout (all that I will have access to on Holiday).  Snatch heavy on Monday, heavy on Wednesday.  Clean and Jerk heavy on Wednesday, light on Monday.  Jerk emphasis both days.  I will probably throw a Max Effort Front Squat day on Tuesday or Wednesday.
