Moorestown last weekend after having it up but not finishing like a hundred times... Any input appreciated. Done at around 64 kilos. About 4-5 months experience with weightlifting.

only thing i would say is this close to a meet i would definately not use straps unless u are just doing deadlifts or some heavy pulls.....u need to get your grip ready for the actual lifts.....other then that your pull looked pretty good and the bar didn't loop ....keep up the good work

All this week I am going no straps. I got 71 Snatch easy today no straps. But yea it probably would of been smarter to go no straps starting last weeks cause on monday I had a bad day getting it back but now I feel confident.
My main problem seems to be catching it tighter like Jim said. My coach said I really need to punch it and be more aggressive at the top. Jim any ideas on how to catch tighter?

After watching the video a couple more times. Â How about stay tight after you lock it out. Â You loosened up after you caught it (after you "bounced" in the bottom).
Watch John Lattimer.
Who is coaching you, Randy?
Be more determined on each individual lift, do it like you really mean it.
I wish I could make the trip to Moorestown for the Gold Cup Challenge. Â Are you lifting Saturday or Sunday or not?

Randy coaches me a little bit but mainly Dave Miller coaches me. I wanted to lift on saturday...but its my second meet so i'm still a novice so Daves having me go on sunday. Im trying to close with (82, 112) hoping to at least get 187 though for the AO. Hope to see you there!

I can't make this years AO, but I hope you do.
If/when you talk to Dave on meet day about what you are going to lift tell him anything he puts on the bar and mean it (believe it and do it).
You do that enough times and he'll believe it too.
Then look out.
