Has anyone procured a pair of the Powerfirm weightlifting shoes (stationed in Canada)? I'm trying to select a good pair of shoes and there seem to be three main options: 1)Powerfirm(about $120 with shipping), 2)Adidas(most expensive), 3)the pair found on vsathletics.com. The ones found on vsathletics.com are the cheapest at around $60. If anyone has opinions, experience, or advice with any of these models please feel free to share. Is this a case where you "get what you pay for," or will there be no big difference?

ive heard that the newest adidas shoe is not very good and it is very expensive. i think it is called adistar 2 or something like that. And i know for a fact that it is not completely durable. one of my friends has a pair of do-winn (i think they are called) for about 85 plus shipping. he likes them alot but he has never used any other kind of weightlifting shoe.

Thanks Nick and John for the replies. Out of curiosity, I have since e-mailed an authority from Powerfirm, and his response was prompt and informative. Given my friends personal experience with them, their process to find the best fit for my foot, and your responses I would say that I'm leaning that way and will forego the Adidas for sure. For reference sake I'm also checking out the "Do-Wins," however it is apparent that I will need to do some translation in size availability etc. on their website.

how about the do-win shoes? I read somewhere that they make a pretty good shoe for people with slightly wider feet. Anyone have any experience with these?

The owner of Powerfirm is a good man and he is highly involved in weightlifting in his area. His shoes are great.

I used to own the VS Athletics pair of shoes. They were very well built and had a pretty large heel wedge compared to the Adidas that I use now. The Adidas shoes have better mid-foot support and seemed a little stiffer in the arch. Both shoes had good stiffness in the heel and the sole. I got rid of the VS shoes because I thought they were ugly. But most people still think my new silver and red Adidas are also ugly. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

my friend who likes the do-win shoes have the widest feet ive ever seen. so it is probly true
