Of course, bodybuilding isn't an Olympic sport, and the USA is certainly one of the cleanest countries in the world in weightlifting.

Cheers

thanks chris!

i'm sure usa is one of the clearest nation in wl, but if Your way is (sorry for generalizing) "i loose you cheat", (and every w4eightlifting powerlifting forum is full of that) nothing could go.
I'm not speaking of bodybuilding, is a cultural issue.

How late western country learnt to train with weight??
For how long we do train in the most stupid way?? (and again)
How far is the distance between the way to train strenght in western country (i'm italian-reach capistalistic place) than in east???

Just look at frequensy (?) of training, buffer (we discorver buffer 30 years later), volume, ecc.

Before everything, mum said, look at your foult (i dont mean only us, but "we" as western)

Third Russian athlete positive?

http://www.mosnews.com/news/2006/07/18/weightliftersfearban.shtml

look at the third paragraph from the end.

"Citing an unidentified source, the Russian daily Kommersant reported that a third Russian weightlifter had failed a preliminary doping test. It did not identify the lifter."

And here is the list of iwf:

Quote from: "Don Weideman"
Makes Dmitry KLOKOV'S statements at the end of the 2005 Worlds even
more foolish. I don't want to be one to say I told you so, but. . . . . .

Here is his interview... Its from this forum itself

"Q: How about the Turkish lifters banned from the championship because of the doping issues. Overall, is it a painful topic to talk about today?

A: Nah, everybody knows what is allowed and what is not. The substances that are allowed and effective are simply very expensive. The slavic nations are still very strong and, if everybody will have equal financial opportunities, we certainly will be the strongest. When we get to the competitions, we can see how the Iranians, representatives of a wealthy oil-producing nation, don't sweat over the doping control, get to the tournaments being overfed as if it is like some special dinner occasion. It hurts. The rest of us exhaust our body resources, injured all over, angry, hungry but certainly mentally charged up to compete... Due to this mental charging, we still somehow manage to win... "

He has only complained about the Iranians being able to use expensive and allowed drugs. He hasnt claimed that the Russians are drug-free.

You mean to say there are effective performance enhancing drugs that are allowed? This is news to me.

Scotty,

Did you find the quote by using our search feature at the top of the page? It works well. John has put a lot of work into it. I did a search for "klokov" and came up with the thread in question, started by Arthur Chidlovski. I assume he did the translation as well, very nice of him:

http://www.weightliftingexchange.com/viewtopic.php?t=1616&highlight=klokov

My guess is that Klokov considers any steroid he can get away with, like a designer steroid, to be allowed and is merely complaining that they can't afford the designer steroids, or afford them in the amounts they would like and therefore have to take the cheaper and more easily detectable stuff. It could also be a issue in the translation where the original meaning is difficult to get across in English.
