Hello my name is jake

i recently started doing hang cleans a few months ago and have a 205 pounds max. i was browsing through this site and saw a lot of people who know their stuff. glad to be here.

like i said i started doing this lift about 3 months ago and i love it but my confidence is low on going down lower in the catch part of the lift, it seems the lowest i go down to is parallel but usually a bit higher and i think because of this im not getting that 2nd rep or those extra 5/10 pounds on the bar. i also recently started doing front squats about a couple weeks ago and can do 175 pounds pretty easily so my max probably also now would be over 200 im guessing.

as for back squats also i started doing them 3 months ago along with hang cleans and have been doing them on and off but now ive started doing them seriously and did 225 pounds today for 7 reps. its still pretty weak but i plan to do this very seriously and get a 300 pound max soon.

i dont do pushpresses very often because ive had some wrist pain related to this so i dont go very heavy, ive done 195 pounds before though for 1 rep.

i used to be a bodybuilding type lifter, benches, curls, tricep work etc... and got up to a 275 pound max for bench press.

as you see im quite new to this style of lifting and plan to start doing powercleans and snatches which currenlty i do with very light weights.

i do deadlifts quite rarely because my lower back always annoys me the next couple days after i do them, but i have done a few serious workouts with them and had a 300 pounds max.

my workout routine is basically around the basic good lifts now, cleans, squats, pull ups, presses, dips..etc..u get the idea.

You need to realy work on squating all the way down. specially in the snatch cus that could take awhile to get to where you can overhead squat comfortably. and i would do dead lifts, work on your clean pulls and snatch pulls. (im sure leroux has some vids of him doing pulls or can make one that will teach it to you) make sure doing front and back squats you go alllllllll the way down. and learning how to squat all the way down will improve your clean and snatch by way more than 5 or 10 lbs :) . if you have any more questiong feel free to repost and i or one of the elite coaches on the site will help you out.
Rule#1- Lift!!!

Rule#2- Lifting=life. So when lifting is good, life is good. Everything else is unnecessary details.

Rule #3- No excuses. lift  like a champion
