Hussey, Harris Win Weightlifting Gold Medals

EL PASO, Texas — Dane Hussey and Glenn Harris won gold medals to lead the Gayle Hatch Weightlifting Team at the U.S. Masters Weightlifting Championships last weekend.

Hussey had a total lift of 105 kilograms to lead the 56-kilogram weight class for 55- to 59-year-old men.

Harris compiled a 129-kilogram  total  in the men’s 65- to 69-year-old age group in the 69-kilogram weight class.

Gary Glass and David Meltzer claimed silver medals, while Warren Byrd garnered a bronze medal.

Glass had a 185-kilogram total in the 77-kilogram weight class for 55-59 men. Meltzer, competing in the 50- to 54-year-old age group, had a 201-kilogram total in the 105-kilogram weight class.

Byrd finished with a 153-kilogram total in the 77-kilogram weight class for 55- to 59-year-olds.

I wish I could have lifted what I did when I was 16 years old!!!  :lol:   :lol:

It was a great meet and Doug Briggs and Team Bliss should be commended for their outstanding effort in making it a success.
If I was doing any better, I would be twins!!!
