LEROUX... PEDIATRICS IN SPORTS
« on: Apr 02, 2006, 09:28 AM »
well we all know about this subject ...  but ive seen it  thgis past week , although not in are sport , it was a kids lacrosse game, 14 to 18 yr olds . well  the play  was going on  and one kid  hooked the neck of his running  opponent  while they were running .. drug him to the ground  and pounced  on him ... results were ... a broken neck  ( vertebrae) and  prob  as we  hear a  possible law suite  pendding ,  after that happened both benches cleared and a  brawl ensumed ....now the team  or both  teams are prob banned from the leauge.  letters were sent out and other teams and schools  ,refusing to play one or both teams at all !  the parents  and officals had to  break up the  brawl .. my question  or 2 questions or more ..lol  are ...  why did  the offical not call , or stop the play  before all this happened ? he was right there witnessing a illegal move?  each team has  4  to 5 coaches ...  to about  16 players ,  they cant control them?  theirs no excuse .. from the players to the coaches and the officals who should  have called it off before  it happened . one woman was yellin at me , for why i dont know ...... i told her  theres a  lot of talent on both teams ... the kids should take up lifting ,  as i told her we dont have this  **** in  olympic weightlifting and  bad injuries are quite rare ! and so  the end of my  lenghty story...lol . bottom line is the pediatric society is on  and against weightlifting! oh  by the way another  young man was  at the game  as a spectator ( with a metal halo screwd into his head), a injury from  a game  a few weeks ago!
