College Athletics & Weightlifting

I'm interested in the beginning application of weightlifting in college athletics for improved performance.  I would guess Body Epley at Nebraska may be one of the pioneers.  Any resources or direction would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Try the NSCA

I notice that your location is listed as the AFA in Colorado Springs, CO.  The Springs is also the national HQ for the NSCA.  I would contact them (www.nsca-lift.com) about the history of strength and conditioning at the collegiate level.  They were founded by a few college strength coaches who wanted to form a network of college strength coaches.

Buck,

On a slightly different note...I'd sure love to know about any AFA athlete that shows promise or is interested in Olympic lifting; I'm the Air Force Weightlifting "Coach" (since we really don't have one, and there's only 2 of us in the AF competing), and I'm trying quite hard to get us more recognition, et. al., from the AF.

Thanks,

A guy who used to lift on my team is at the AFA now (a freshman). His name is Sam McKenzie, and he might be interested. I can try to track down a contact if you'd like.
